Many of you have been asking about our Almost World Famous Lavender Sugar Cookie recipe.  Here it is!  Hope you have a chance to enjoys some at home.                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Add 1 cup sugar, 2 sticks butter and blend together.

Add in 1 egg, 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp of almond extract and blend together.

1 ¾ cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt - sift into the sugar, butter, egg and extracts and mix well.

In a separate bowl mix 2 tbsp. of dried culinary lavender buds and 1/4 cup sugar.  Put the lavender/sugar mixture in a coffee grinder and mix for approximately 15 seconds.  It should be similar to the consistency of powdered sugar.

Roll dough mixture into balls the size of a walnut.  Roll walnut size ball in the mixture of lavender and sugar until the ball is entirely coated in the sugar/lavender mixture.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Put 12 - 15 sugar coated dough balls on a standard size cookie sheet.  Cook for 10 minutes, or until slightly brown on the edges of the cookie.
